Welsh Reservoir impounds Swauano and Justiss Creeks near Mount Pleasant in Titus County, Texas. Visitors enjoy boating, scuba diving, and other popular water sports. Sunfish, trophy bass, catfish, and crappie flourish in large numbers. The 1,465-acre reservoir was constructed in 1976 to serve as a cooling pond for a steam-electric power plant.
